ARTICLE 9: ASSOCIATE MEMBERS

a) Associate members are:
i. former Active or Life members, who have been members for at least
five (5) years and who, through a change in their occupation, are no
longer qualified for Active or Life membership but still remain in a
responsible position closely connected with travel and tourism.
ii. former Active members who retire but who do not qualify for Life
membership.
b) Upon reaching normal retirement age in their respective country, Associate
members who decide to retire will remain as such and cannot, under any
circumstances, become Life members.
c) Active or Life Members whose personal situation has been defined under (a)
above, must be immediately transferred to Associate membership. The General
Secretariat shall receive from the Club all transfer forms from Active or Life to
Associate membership, to amend the official register.
d) Associate members are permitted as observers at their Club's General Assembly
but shall not vote or intervene at the Assembly. They shall not hold office at any
level of Skal.
e) Associate members are permitted to attend National and International
Congresses but attendance at activities organized by Clubs other than their own
is only possible by invitation.
